Hi all,

Hoping for some local input here. I am flying from UK to Melbourne in September to do a broadcast in Melbourne however, the venue has said we cannot use their network.

There are two parts to the event.

1. 10 Computers hooked up the the internet using minimal bandwidth.
2. The Broadcast - This is what I care more about!

The Broadcast will likely have 5 NDI sources through a gigabit network switch with a broadcast stream of 1080 30fps at 2500mbps min. upload. What are my options when it comes to mobile broadband? I have been taking a look at this as an option but cannot get any update on the reliability or figures of the upload speed it can provide.

Thanks

Jonny

This is the the best possible modem on the market, if you need 100% reliability then use this;

https://www.telstra.com....e-broadband/nighthawk-m1

It uses multiple bands and aggregates them to get you the fastest possible speed in Australia.

Generally you can get 40mbit upload speed and by spreading out over multiple bands.

Thanks,

So I am assuming I can plug it into a gigabit switch and then it will operate as if I had hardline internet.

I have had mixed responses but can I just buy the unit outright from somewhere like JB

https://www.jbhifi.com.a...m1-mobile-router/353151/

And put in a $90 25GB card

https://www.telstra.com....-broadband/prepaid/plans

And then all will work?

Just over for 3 days so don't want to get a 24 month contract.

Also looking at sattelite options - as this will give us access in other locations in he future.

Yes it works the same as a home router, just plug it into a switch.

The only difference is you don't get a "Real" public IP address. But this doesn't affect vMix operation.
