Hi,

I would like to configure a second vMix system on a notebook. In the reference system it says two NDI connection, when using HDMI / SDI. I would like to configure an NDI only setup. How many NDI sources in 1080p (25 or 30 fps) can I connect to an i7 machine with GTX1050 graphics over a 1GBit/s line? Four? Six? Any ideas? :)

Thanks in advance
Seb

Overall bandwidth depends on resolution and frame rate, but for typical 1080i (or 1080p30) video a safe number to use is about 100mbits/sec. Using this amount, you should be able to safety get about eight NDI channels into a system. Since NDI compression is VBR, there might be times you can get more than eight. Of course, the system needs to have the performance to handle that many channels.

NDI also supports multiple Ethernet ports, if add a second NIC to the system and connect both to the network, you can double your bandwidth.
