Hey guys,

I just ran into an issue I cannot solve right now.

I use OBS to record my live show with the external feature, and suddently I started having issues.

I'm streaming to 2 outputs at the sametime (hardware encoder, both rtmp)

external connected to OBS, recording with intel quicksync (less load on the machine)

and then the audio starts getting choppy (it turns off for a second or 2, comes back, so on) until I turn OBS off.

Another weird behavior is the fact that OBS sometimes gets the external signal even with the external button turned off.

Good reminder is the fact that I was already recording like this for a while, started having the issue after a fresh os install.

I dont like VMIX buil'in recorder for 3 reasons:
1. doesn't work with intel quicksync.
2. i prefer to place my h264 in mkv container to prevent file loss in case of failure. (mp4's can be unrecoverable in some cases)
3. I can't handle the way my frames are encoded (CBR, VBR, CQP, ICQ, etc)

---

Any tips here?

I have had similar issues with OBS using NDI FYI.

I'm using NDI to receive the signal on VMIX, and sending the signal to OBS via external output.

I tried a couple of configuration changes, lets see if it works out, I'll update case it does.

thanks,

RS

UPDATE: the issue only happens while using QUICKSYNC, if I switch to X264 it doesnt happen.

Any idea to get this working with quicksync?
