Hi there,

We have a mobile production truck. We use vMix call to link between the production truck and our main studio. With VPN's and scripting/macros, we can even remotely switch cameras at each location. Great!

We have a pretty complex setup with various mix minuses (because vMix is not the master audio), so vMix Call is setup in a very specific way (we send Bus A audio as return, and we only put the call itself on Bus B), and for various scripting the input # of the call has to remain the same. In essence, we want to leave vMix Call in the project as it is untouched for months at a time.

Here's the issue: When the project on the production truck is opened, it immediately connects vMix Call to the main studio. Since the truck is always on either satellite or bonded cell, this starts racking up bandwidth charges immediately. Same thing if we just want to have the project open to work on setting things up (we open a project over an hour before show time to test everything and get ready to go live).

We want to be able to SUSPEND/PAUSE vMix Call input during that time, until we are ready to go live. Essentially, leave the input as it is, but DISCONNECT. Then when ready to go live, RECONNECT. When paused or disconnected no data would be sent between the calls.

This would be a lifesaver for us...trust me, projects have been open for hours while the producers in the field unknowingly rack up huge bandwidth charges.

Thanks!

Hi

I suggest you put that into the Feature request section. I’d give that a +1
