hi martin,

i used vmix 2011 beta on friday night service at my church and i had some problems.

1. recording codecs: tried to record with vp60, vp61 and vp62 and error after pressing "ok" button (error report sended)... recording with dv, mjpeg and divx mpeg-4 codecs it`s ok.

2. error on adobe flash media live encoder, profile flags error, software set to default (i don`t know what is this, but every time i use vmix it shows to me).

3. external device error (in vmix, error report sended) after restart vmix and keep opened adobe flash media live encoder.

4. sound and video goes unsync with the course of service, more time using, more unsync (i`ll upload a part of that recording at monday).

let me correct a thing that i wrote in other post, cpu usage at 35% using vmix 2011 beta like video switcher with 2 sony fx-7e camera, dv mode, and usb 2863 video device (s-video), recording pal 25p or 50p, divx mpeg-4 codec, divx 1080p profile, 10Mbytes/s, 160go hdd, 1024x576, external output device at 640x480, onboard line in sound device and flash media live encoder, resized to 640x360, h264, main profile, 586kbps stream 1 and 320x180 86 kbps stream 2, onboard line in sound device at 64kbps mainconcept aac-he plugin, recording these 2 streams in same partition 500go hdd.

hope this information help to fix these bugs.

regards from portugal,
melody

Regarding the issues reported in your post:

1. vp60 etc codecs are not supported due to bugs in the codecs. They have been discontinued by Google.
The supported and recommended codecs for vMix are DV, CineForm and DeckLink MJPEG.

2. The profile error is an FMLE issue that occurs when the FMLE resolution is different to vMix. This is not something vMix can fix.

3. The error explains that FMLE needs to be restarted when restarting vMix. This is to ensure both stay in sync.

4. Please check that the frame rate in FMLE matches the frame rate in vMix.
If they are both the same and you are still having issues let me know.

For the audio sync issue, what audio source is selected in FMLE?

This will allow me to run a 2 hour test using a similar setup to see what happens.

i use the same audio source in both softwares... line in stereo input...
my audio device is Realtek HD Audio, ALC1200, v6.0.1.6167, DX11
remebering, the recorded vmix file is ok but the fmle recorded file is unsync.

about 3.

would be great if, something wrong happens with vmix, we can keep fmle working...

regards,
melody

ps: i`ll try to record with fmle some musicians playing during 1:00h, 1:30h and i can send the recorded file to you.

Hi Martin and Melody.

I've found the same problem as Melody describes in "4".

Trying to stream video with vMix and FMLE, the audio and the video are initially in sync, but the audio is going out of sync as times goes by.

The audio is delayed from the video. The growing I've measured is about 150 ms each hour.

I've found the problem in different environments. Next is a description of one of them:

Platform:
HW: Intel Desktop Board DH57DD based PC with Intel Core i3 530 processor and 2GB RAM (also used a laptop with Core i7 processor, with the same problem)
Capture card Blackmagic Design Decklink SDI (also used USB video and audio input devices with the same problem)
SW: Windows 7, 32 bits (also tested in a 64 bit PC with same problem)
vMix 2011 6.0.0.2
Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder 3.1.0.8703 (also tested with FMLE 3.2.0.9932 with the same problem)
Test:
Digital video input through the SDI Decklink inteface. Video SD-SDI, 576i with embedded
vMix setings:
Options: PAL 50i-25p 720x576
Performance: Applic. priority Normal, Output format UYVY, Renderer VMR9, Sync Output with Refresh Rate
External Output: vMix Virtual Capture Device, PAL 50i or 25p, 720x576, Audio Delay 0
Audio: Def. Audio Renderer Loudspekers Realtek (line out)
Inputs:
Declink Video Capture (as Added New Input "Capture")
Declink Audio Capture (as Added New Input "Audio")

FMLE Settings:
Video: Device vMix Virtual Capture, Format VP6, Fr. Rate 25 fps, In Size 720x576, Rate 225 kbps, Out Size 512x384
Audio: Line In (Rear panel. A loop is made with line out), Format Mp3 Mono, 22050 kHz 48kbps

Thanks in advance for any help.

Regards,
mas

The next beta will include a different timing method for FMLE which should hopefully improve things.

This is a pre-release of Beta 3:

http://www.vmix.com.au/download/vmix2011beta3.exe

Changes:

* New timing code for vMix Virtual Capture.
* Transition effects can be selected for each overlay.
* Overlay settings bug fixed.

Please test the new vMix Virtual Capture in FMLE and let me know if the sync has improved.

If everything looks ok, I will release this to the web site.

Thanks,

Martin

Hi Martin.

I've started testing in two environmentes, one with USB capture devices and the other with Blackmagic cards.

The first impressions about audio/video synchronism in FLME are very good.

I hope i will report on friday morning (Spanish time) in more detail.

Thanks again. Regards.

Hi Martin.

I confirm you that the sync problem seems to be over.

I've used the same platforms as explained in Post #7 and run it in a more than 4 hours test.

Analyzing the reception in the clients, the auidio and video keep synchronized with no change during the whole test.

Great work.

Best regards,

mas

hi martin, sorry for the delay...

problem solved... now vmix is running ok with fmle.
but i had a problem with recording feature... in 4 hours service just recorded 20 minutes... i had readed here the post "Recording Stops" by tony marone (i didn`t use cineform, used divx codec) maybe the problem is not the same. my motherboard bios is updated. i`m recording 15000KB/s, divx hd 1080p Profile...

now the beta 3 can be released on web site.

regards,
melody
