I was helping someone test a vmixcall today using Chrome Version 58.0.3029.110 .

He gave me the password key, and I logged in via vmixcall.com

He could hear me, but I was not able to select vmix output as the video source.
When clicking the camera icon near the url in Chrome, the video dropdown is disabled (it selects only the first item on the list, which was not vmix)

I then tried it on another computer with the same results, the video source dropdown was greyed out.

In firefox, I was able to select a video source and all proceeded normally.

Any thoughts about why Chrome is being stubborn?

I just updated Chrome to Version 59.0.3071.104 (Official Build) (64-bit) and the issue persists.

So, how do I get this video selection working again in Chrome?

This is very possibly the thing that was reported not too long ago. The project frame rate must be 30f/s or Chrome ignores the video.

I don't think it's a frame rate issue, vmix wasn't even running...
I could not select ANY off the video sources because the selection box is greyed out.
Ev n when I go into advanced setup, and select vmix video from its drop down list, the old value in the greyed out box persists.

Yes, Google Chrome changed things so that the device can only be selected under Settings now.
If you select vMix Video and it isn't working go to Settings -> About to update to Chrome 59.

However, vMix Video is not really supported on vmixcall.com as you should be connecting from within vMix in that case.

The issue I referenced is where Chrome won't see video from vMix if then project is set for 29.97, but DOES see it if set for 30 f/s.

I presume that 24.97 and 25 f/s would be the comparable rates elsewhere.

Why should vMix call care what the 'webcam' is... a hardware camera or a virtual camera from vMix
External, or any other such input?

Also, funny that I have not tried this... can a vMix Basic HD instance connect as a guest to a vMixCall that I start with my 4K license?

Seems to be very general and not vMix related

even through here as a test and per Martin's Advice through chrome settings it doesn't work, can not select any other source , worse it defaults to vMix video and can not select webcam

Chrome and W10 fully up to date
thanks 1 user thanked doggy for this useful post.

I just tried having a guest who has a basic HD vMix license attempt to add a video call input on his side to connect to a call that I started with my 4k license. He got a vMix message stating that his version does not support video calls.

I fully understand that it should (and does) require HD, 4k, or Pro to host a call, but it would be very very useful if Basic HD could connect as a guest to my calls, especially if it is preferred over using a browser to do so. It seems odd that they can be a guest through a browser (free), but not through their (minimal) vMix license.

Just thinking out loud, and trying to expand the use of vMixCall... which is GREAT when we finally connect.

Although this is an old thread, had the same problem with Chrome. Even in chrome settings when I selected the external Logitech cam (USB connection, computer recognises fine), vMix would not access the cam, insisted on using laptop cam even when permissions denied via Windows and laptop lid shut. Used Firefox which allows you to select the cam and mic inputs on vMix Call when you start the call, and all worked perfectly. Firefox was the solution!
