I am testing vMix call with the following configuration:

-- Local HDMI camera input (no audio input)
-- Separate USB mic audio input

In other words, the camera and audio inputs are independent of each other.

I have two questions:

1. Best way to link the camera and audio?
2. It appears that when linking the camera and audio, the audio is only active when the camera input is in the active, program window. This means no one else in the call can hear me most of the time.

Any ideas on the right way to configure this? Thank you!

When defining the camera input, you can select an audio device, so you can select your USB microphone.
The default vMix behavior is to turn a camera's microphone on when it is in the output window and to mute the microphone when another input is inuse.
This is easily changed.
*After* the camera input is defined, click on the gear icon for to go to the settings for that input.
On the settings General tab, uncheck the automatically mix audio item, then close the settings window.
Now you can manually turn on or off the input's audio (by clicking on the audio icon on the input) regardless of whether or not it is in the output window

Hi

you can use your cam input as a multiview input and select your mic input as an overlay. This way both inputs are always playing together.

Thanks for the reply!

When I try to select an audio channel for the camera, the list includes:
Embedded12
Embedded34
Embedded56
ETC
EmbeddedAllChannels

How do I know which audio channel corresponds to the mic?
