Hello :) I am new here, and I want to move into the world of Live Streaming :):)

I have a Desktop PC, want to Live Stream 3 or 4 cameras....

I plan to buy this card: DeckLink 4K Extreme 12G - Quad SDI

I want to input 3 or 4 cameras into vMix

Can I record Full HD Video and also Live Streaming at the same time?

If I want to get a feed from the main Conference screen, how do I connect this into Vmix?

What is the best way tp get good clean audio?

For example if I want to work Live Streaming a Conference, would I need any extra equipment?

Many Thanks for your help :)

Hi

this card is not a good choice for multicam. Look at Decklink Duo 2 instead or other 4 input models

Take time to read the documentation, the knowledge base, to watch all the videos on vMix website. And also this forum. All your questions are basic stuff, already answered several times.

vMix offers a 60 day trial... You will learn more by yourself if you spend time.

@ irish147

Welcome to the forum!
I think you will find vMix to be the perfect software for you to accomplish all that.
First things first though, have a look at the vMix reference systems page to figure out where you want or need to go:

http://www.vmix.com/prod...x-reference-systems.aspx

Next would be the supported hardware page to figure out where you might already be or need to go:

http://www.vmix.com/soft.../supported-hardware.aspx

Hope that helps some.

There are lots of cards supported, if I was buying a card based on my current experiences I've found magewell quad card work well for me and my computer builds. I'm not using 4k at this time.

Sure, just make sure your computer is fast enough. A quad core i7 and an NVidia GTX 1060 series card should take care of your performance needs with some overhead for future growth.

Since you want to record and stream and that will depend greatly on the format of the recording how much computer power you need. I'd highly recommend an SSD in your build to keep pace with recording many inputs or the replay system if you wish to buy a license for that down the track.

For streaming an uncontended 10mbit upstream Internet connection should be about right. You can do it with less, but maybe not reliably. You definitely want more if you share the connection with other people.

Vmix has an NDI Desktop Capture program designed to do this. You run that on the computer that runs that screen if possible and it sends the contents over the network as if that screen was another camera. There are other ways like a long SDI cable, but the Vmix Desktop Capture NDI has been the best way for me. Doesn't need to use one of those valuable SDI capture ports on your desktop then.

Using an audio interface. There are many, I use a small Roland Tricapture, because I plug that into a big 32 channel mixer as most of my productions have a dedicated sound guy mixing for me. You might want something that has more mixing channels and various volume sliders to match with your number of microphones and audio sources.

Depends what you already have, but I imagine a audio interface. A decent one. Most likely various wireless microphones and again decent ones work best. Sennheiser g3 series are what my audio guy uses, he needs quite a bit of range and I work with auctioneers and found they sound good with those headsets. This is a very long conversation and you need to supply much more information about your budgets etc.. Audio alone can be a massive discussion. Different gear works in different situations. Sometimes it's not the gear but how you set it up as well that makes the difference.
