Hi DWAN, but I wanna stream to facebook haha
I want to stream in portraiture mode (don't ask, it's part of the strategy)
Doesn't vMix have a custom resolution option? and ... why not? :(

if you use the solution given by Elvis your image will be distorted
if your production is 1920x1080 and you want to stream in vertical resolution, for example 720x1080, you need to crop. vMix doesn't allow us to do this. That's why Richard made a feature request for this.
My solution is to use FMLE, as I explained with EXTERNAL OUT from vMix FMLE is free and allows to crop. And you can stream to facebook with it (or any other RTMP based platform)

hi elvis55, thanks for that, I forgot I could have changed it there but there is one problem ...that settings forces the output to be that resolution we set and squishes the resolution.
For instance, If I flip the resolution and set it to be 720x1280, vMix will squeeze the 1280x720 video and send a distorted video out
so what we need to do now is find a way to set the project to 720x1280, do you understand what I mean?

Hi interestingly I have had a few requests from people wanting to stream only in portrait to facebook . Apparently younger ones won't turn their phones sideways!! Is the best way just to use the safe areas within vmix?

@ Cormac
You do have the option to stream in one of three Aspect Ratios: - Original - Square 1:1 - Vertical 9:16 Of course the square and vertical are just crops of your vMix Output (you can preview what will be cropped with the "Safe Areas" last two options).

Resurrecting this thread to say I'm having the same squeezing issue when attempting to push a 9:16 aspect ratio @ 720x1280.
I've set the Encoder Size [720 x 1280] as well as Aspect Ratio / Crop [Vertical (9:16)] in the stream settings but I'm still seeing a squished feed on multiple platforms.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
