I want to stop an input video at a certain point automatically, yes I know I could pause it but I need this to be somewhat foolproof for another operator to use! Is there a shortcut syntax to achieve this? I know I can do in ProPresenter, but cannot find similar setting in vMix.

Hi and welcome

you can do this with scripting in 4K and Pro versions

If you don't have this licence version, you can do it with vMixUTC very easily: just create a button widget with commands like in screencap below
- first command: restarts video
- second command: sends video to PROGRAM
- third command: defines time to play the video in ms
- fourth command: auto switches to another input

Clicking this button executes all the commands in a row.

vMix UTC is donationware and can be used on same PC as vMix or any other computer/tablet on the same network: https://forums.vmix.com/....aspx?g=posts&t=6468

Hope this helps
Guillaume

Do you know the spot in the video where you want to stop it?
If so, have you considered marking a new "out point" (click the play head at that spot and Mark Out).
The video will now stop at that point, you could also set up a Trigger to transition to another Input 'OnCompletion'.
Guillaume makes some valid suggestions but depending on you exact need, it may be simpler than you think.
Can you elaborate further as to exactly what you want to accomplish?

This works great, thanks, could not find this in the User Guide anywhere, thought such a setting should be there. An alternative I thought of if I want auto fades is to simply record a shorter version in vMix, but the mark in/out works great. Thanks again.
