Hi,
For those who doubt if this model of Asus works with Thunderbolt, I can confirm that it does.
I've connected my Canon HF-G30 via an HDMI cable to a Blackmagic UltraStudio Mini Recorder.
From the UltraStudio Mini Recorder I've connected a Thunderbolt cable to a Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to a Thunderbolt 2 adapter and the laptop.
No problems whatsoever.
