Is there difference, with reference to sync audio to video, to add audio with video capture input vs to add the same audio source separably with input audio?
I ask this because I want to use the audio in the playlist to fade it out and in.

Depends on the driver, in general where audio and video come from a camera input they should be kept together.

You can still achieve what you are looking for as follows:

1. Create a blank colour input
2. In the input properties set the camera input as Overlay 1 in MultiView and whatever you want to appear over it in Overlay2
