I'm a vMix HD user. For archivisation purposes I've been using the Recording feature to record 480p 1Mbps video through the MP4 option. Unfortunately I'm unhappy with its quality because it looks pixelated (looks like the builtin downscaling algorithm does its job badly - all edges are aliased). I wanted to switch to FFmpeg recording because the video it outputs looks way smoother, but the lowest bitrate available is 1.5Mbps. It may sound odd but it's too much for me - I would love to see 1Mbps option for FFmpeg recording (maybe the dropdown could be changed to a slider allowing more precise bitrate setting?).
Thanks.

Meanwhile you can use EXTERNAL to feed FFMPEG to make your own recording preset.
However I doubt you get better results. Realtime encoding being one-pass, it requires higher bitrates to be really efficient.
