The production we are doing is 3 camera, all cuts. I would prefer that when I click on a camera, that input would go to the output and not the preview. That is when I click on the image - we take that camera right away (similar to what happens when you click on the "cut" button. Is there someway to make that happen? Or maybe even eliminate the preview all together?

It sounds like what you are after is already available using the 'cut' button under each input. Using that button immediately cuts that input into the live output. Is this what you are referring to?

Take a look at the "shortcuts" section in settings. You can assign a key (i like number pad keys 1 to 6) to almost any function, in your case assign "NumPad1" to "Cut" and choose first input, "NumPad2" for second input etc. Then you can switch very fast and intuitiv, exactly the way you'd use a hardware switcher.

I accidentally got VMIX to do exactly what you are asking. If you slide the T-bar control to almost all the way to the right, but not all the way, then clicking on a camera to take it to preview also takes it directly to the output as well.

I would agree with the OP, it would be a good optional feature to add. The small cut or quick play buttons are difficult to hit on the fly.

Thanks Kelvin -- good work around. Like you said - the buttons are kind of small when things are moving quickly.

Why bother to use the mouse at all? Using dedicated keys is even more direct and, after a few minutes, more intuitive than clicking the images.

I agree that shortcut keys or a hardware switcher are the best option, but I do see the validity of the request, especially in todays world of touch screens and windows 8. In a fast paced live situation you don't have time to preview, so an override option to go straight out to program for certain inputs or on a double click might prove itself to be a valuable feature.

I'm mostly mixing stage acts, from rock/pop concerts up to musical and drama performances, and the occasional round table discussion on stage, and i always use my numpad, because it's just the fastest way.

I do all the time and certainly look forward to a hardware switcher solution, especially one that is continuously functional unlike the keyboard shortcuts which are de-activated when outside the GUI or when needed for other functions within vMix.
I don't yet have a touch screen but I do see how that would be so much more advantageous over using a mouse to work quickly and intuitively in vMix.
