I have noticed that with my installation of VMix my render times go up dramatically if the GUI is in focus in windows, in other words one of the VMix displays is in focus (GUI, Statistics, Input Select etc. If I have another program in focus with Windows such as NDI Studio Monitor or Blackmagic Desktop Video the render times are fine. The difference in levels is 28 - 48ms when in focus and 10 - 12ms when not in focus. So when in focus the render times cause dropped frames but when not in focus I don't have dropped frames.
My PC is an i9 10900X with 32Gb Ram and a Nvidia 1650 GPU. I have a Blackmagic Decklink Duo 2 which is enabled and is currently taking 2 SDI inputs and outputting 2 SDI outputs.
Any ideas?

I followed the link and non of the implentations stopped the render times decreasing by 10 secs when I put another program/app or even file explorer in focus.

I have a hunch.
I'm not going to say it's going to work, but it's a hunch.
Try collapsing all of your inputs and see if that does anything.

I will try that.
Tried it but I am still having instances with render times over 20ms and dropped frames. Does anyone know why render times go up with the vMix GUI in focus in windows?

Hi, I haven't told a solution yet but I had an issue with my Birddog PTZ after updating the firmware and software where I couldn't find the camera using the Birddog Cam Control Software. I have a motherboard with 2 NIC (NIC 1 is 1Gb and is used for internet and also the venue subnet, NIC 2 is a 10Gb and is for NDI and Dante and is connected to a Netgear AV Switch). Anyway Birddog support suggested the reason Cam Control couldn't find my camera is because it was only looking on the subnet for NIC1 so the asked me to change the priorty of the 2 NIC's.
I looked this up and found something call interface metrics and swapped the values of NIC 1 and NIC 2 on both it's IPv4 and IPv6 preferences. This didn't sort out the PTZ discovery but my vMix is now stable and doesn't change render times based on whether I have the vMix GUI in focus.
