I don't believe vmix is the tool for this. Vmix does not have a stream delay on the encoding. You could output to a second pc and use other tools for encoding.

look at it this way , for a delayed output one needs to keep the original output somewhere first

is like , poor the output into a bucket, wait 10 minutes then unplug the hole in the bottom of the bucket while you keep filling the bucket, what comes out of the hole is what went in 10 minutes before.

Could also stream to the sun and back , but time delay will depend on the seasons

You can add up to 120 seconds of "buffer" on the stream settings. That should give it a 2min delay, right?
Let´s just hope they implement a delay option on the external/stream settings asap.

From the perspective of a user who's asking how to use a feature that they assume is present, does this really matter?

If someone were asking how to use the Replay feature, would you ask them where the video would go from the time the event happened to when it needs to be played back?

It's the same concept: thing happens, vMix sends the video somewhere, vMix brings the video back. Where vMix sends the video is of no concern to the user, beyond the question of whether their system is powerful enough to send the video there and bring it back.

The only difference is that one was officially implemented & supported and the other hasn't been (yet).

Saying "vMix doesn't natively support that feature at this time--you may want to post in the Feature Requests forum" is one thing, but asking a snarky question like this when the answer is obviously "The file would go wherever vMix decides it would go--presumably a temp file of some sort" is utterly unhelpful.

There's no particular reason I can see that vMix can't play off the Instant Replay functionality to record inputs as they happen and simultaneously pull the recorded files in as they're happening to introduce a delay. In fact, as someone who's never used the Instant Replay feature, is there anything inherent to it that wouldn't allow it to do this right now (albeit with manual intervention)?

Yes it does matter IMO.
Question was for 10 minute delay and the replay option was given , why this one because the other one (video delay) only caters for 2 minutes max.

Oh, but don't want the recording need? well the delay feature is also a recording of sorts . Granted might not want to care where it goes, fact is it has to go somewhere first so the "i don't want it to" is not an option.

if one really manages to push the value of meterF1 or F2 to >100 it will sure not take long,
till someone (or thing) stopping by to have a look what we are doing here :-)
