Hi all

a little something I wanted to address is loading a saved project onto another pc.

now, already the way vmix is recognizing all the files and inputs is great. never had a problem with it,
really it's wonderful.

I would like however that the recording's folder and parameters stay as they were.
the folders are set to each individual pc according to it's drivers, there is no point to keep this in the project file.

I would like to know exactly which parameters are saved to a project, when they supersede things on the vmix they are loaded on.

so after checking the knowledge base I decided to post here..

although recordings have a default folder and aren't necessarily compromised,
it can be stressful during a live show when anything can happen.
Also, I couldn't find information about which other parameters might change.

I even suspect one time a project load on my pc switched the graphics card from nvidia rtx to the onboard one, and I caught
it in time. although an nvidia update might have been the cause instead, I do not know.

well now, it is rumored that version 25 will have a cool way to save a project with all its files
neatly in a .rar file, and sharing them between remote colleagues will be even easier. I hope it's true, it's really good for the way we are using vmix these days.

please fill me in on the knowledge I'm sure to be missing here.. or maybe nudged Martin if it's not the case

If you open either the .vmix file or the .config file in notepad (or notepad++ and tell it those file extensions are to be formatted as XML) you can read through and find out what all is saved and where.

I'm curious if removing the recording settings sections from the .vmix file will allow the existing settings on a different device to stay in place, but this is not advised in any production files!
