A tile ?

And based on what action or situation of that image is it supposed to trigger something ?

I realise now I dont have it doing anything. So I am thinking how about a countdown timer of 3 secs then load the video. Tried a countdown as an overlay but still not working. Any ideas please?

where did you specify the countdown ? how did you start the countdown ? What is the action specifics of the countdown end?

FYI you can run a countdown to trigger transitions etc

Not really sure what you are trying to do. Would be helpful to explain what you mean by image tile. If you are transitioning a image into program but want to trigger a video after 2 seconds. Use the triggers on th image. Ontransitionin with 2 sec delay to play the video. If your "image tile" is an overlay use a different trigger.

So you have an image you want to display for two seconds and then have it switch to a video.

That's what Triggers are for. Scripting for this is completely unnecessary.

You need to set up both the image and the video as inputs, then on the Input for the image Press the little Gear icon to open the settings for that input, select "Triggers" from the selections on the Left.

You'll see a row of dropdowns and text boxes under the table of triggers (which would be empty unless you'll already added triggers).

Change the first dropdown from the default of "OnCompletion" to "OnTransitionIn".

The second dropdown allows you to select the transition to be used for going from the image to the video, select whatever transition you want it to use.

Change the third dropdown from the default of "Preview" to be the input for the video.

The first text box is the number of milliseconds the transition from the image to the video should take, the default is 500 which is basically one half second.

The second textbox is the delay value which is where you will enter the number 2000 which is how many milliseconds should the trigger wait from the time the image is first displayed before it does the transition to the video.

Press the "Add" button and you should now have a trigger in the table. You can close the settings dialog box now.

At this point you will have an image set up that when you pop that image from preview to live an "OnTransition" trigger will automatically switch to the video after two seconds.

I'll leave it up to you to figure out how to add an "OnCompletion" trigger to the video input to perform a transition to whatever you have in the Preview window when the video finishes playing.

Hi Thanks for your reply. I did as you said but it still wont load the video. Here's what I have:

Image file png input 1
video Bumper file mov input 3
OnTransitionIn Fade 3 BUMPER.mov 500 2000 1

Just what am I doing wrong? I clearly understand what you said so it as to be my implementation?

The TRIGGER to switch to the video goes on the Image file.png input one, not on input 3 where the video is. On input three is where you'll want to add an "OnCompletion" trigger.

Once you figure out triggers (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUAMEcjo_Bw) you'll start to see the power vMix brings to you.

This is really getting to me.
Input 1 is the image file (BUMPER.PNG)
Input 2 is the video file (SONG.MP£)

So I want the input 1 to load input 2 after 2 secs.
On input 1 - settings -
On TransitionIn Fade SONG.MP3 500 2000

What am I not understanding here? It just wont work:(

Put the image into a folder
load this folder as a slideshow
in slideshow settings set duration (2sec)
set trigger to OnCompletion (run the video)

it works :-)
