Hi there,

I've tried everything I can think of. Have approved the application in the Firewall settings. I've even turned both Firewalls off - on both systems. Am running both systems on basic themes (not Aero). No luck. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit on one system and 32-bit on the other (which is the one with the powerpoint slides). I'm making sure that the Desktop Capture Server is running on both systems. No luck. I really need to get this working on my system! It will be awesome - If we can get this working, I will purchase the upgrade for sure. Can anyone please help?

Hi,

What error message are you receiving in vMix when you connect to the Desktop Capture Server?

Hi Martin,

vMix error report is: "No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it (ip address:20333)"

Below that in the little window it says: mscorlib - AddNewInput

That's all it says.

Thanks,gergelias

Couple of things to try:

1. Make sure all computers have vMix 2012 v1 installed and the vMix 2012 Capture Server is running as the desktop capture program has changed since previous releases.
2. Double check the IP address, you can find out the current IP by going to the Command Prompt and typing in ipconfig on the source pc.

Martin

Thank you Martin! I was inserting the wrong IP address. I must say, I really appreciate this software. We will certainly use it for our church here in Western Australia. The only problem I find now is that when using the Desktop Capture - there is a delay of around 4 or 5 seconds before it captures it? And the animation effects or powerpoint transitions don't show up all that well at all. Are you aware of any way I can fix this? I would love to be able to capture powerpoint with animations and mix them live.

Thanks - gergelias.

I was just reading your website in the 'Features' page - under the Input subheading it says: "Remote computer screen capture via Ethernet". Perhaps this will solve my problem - but I can't seem to find it in vMix 2012 v1?

Hi,

That feature you mention is the Desktop Capture feature.
To increase the update delay, set the Frame Rate number (5 by default) to something between 5 and 30. Note that the higher the frame rate the more computer resources needed to capture, so if the powerpoint computer is not that fast, keep the number as low as possible.

Martin

Thank you Martin. Is the 'Desktop Capture' feature with ethernet available in the latest version of vMix? I can't find it when i go into 'Add Imput' - all there is is the 'Desktop Capture' option but I can't see an option for ethernet.

Thanks,
gergelias

Hi gergelias,

Desktop Capture works with any network method such as Ethernet, Wireless and Internet.
Both computers just need to be connected and each have an IP address.
