I know I've done this before, but I'm wondering if that was during trial version of full vmix. I have Basic hd. It's very simple, I have 4 inputs : a desktop capture, camera 1, camera 2, and an audio in. I have desktop capture as main/full screen. I have a little overlay window on right corner. I want that overlay to switch from camera 1 to camera 2, via midi foot controller. I go into shortcuts, add, find, press my midi switch, function/ I select overlay input 2. Save. But, Nothing happens when I press footswitch?!
Each input thumbnail only has overlay input 1 button( 2,3, 4 are greyed out). If I use my mouse and click those 1's, the window will change. How do I do that via midi?
I've watched a bunch of yt vids... But it's not working. The yt vids are based on full vmix.

Shouldn't you select OverlayInput1 instead of 2 ?

That overlays one camera, the first one. With that, it will toggle overlay on/off and only one camera. I'm trying to keep the overlay window open, but switch between two cameras within overlay pip.

Basic HD does not give you many flexible options (scripting and Mix inputs etc)

Not sure if Dynamic inputs is available in Basic but if :

Say Cam1 and 2 are input 1 and 2 respectively
Have Input 1 a trigger to OnOverlayIn to SetDynamicInput1 Input as 2
Have Input 2 a trigger to OnOverlayIn to SetDynamicInput1 Input as 1
Shortcut now being OverlayInput1 with Input as Dynamic1

Or

Add cam2 as layer 1 to cam1 input
Shortcut LayerOnOff of cam1 input with index value 1
Overlay cam1
