I have wanted to create for a long time but never got around to it. So tonight I thought I would give it try now that is easier using vmix 24. After watching Tim's youtube tutorial, I created the exact same setup.
1. GT Title Designer, red filled with transition in an out.
2. New project with two graphics
3. Added test stinger I just created
4. Set Overlay as shown in the tutorial
When I press stinger 1, I see the animation in the input window but the transistion from preview to live is just a cut, no stinger.
So thinking I messed up in GT Title Designer, I loaded a the first preset stinger with a simple blue transition. Same results.
What am I missing here ?
Is there something in the General settings such as Automatically Play with Transition or something ?
If I can see the transition movement in the input window then this must be a vmix setting I don't have set.

The transition between the inputs themselves using a stinger is always a cut! A stinger animation covers ( as it is basically an overlay) that transition at best the moment your animated graphics fully cover the screen. (when using a GT title as stinger it will use the in and out animation and automatically cut the underlaying inputs at the halfway point) Based on duration of your stinger animation one has to specify the timing in the overlay setting, usually the input transition should happen about halfway the duration of your covering animation One can even use a simple image input as stinger by specifying a different animation (say zoom), and specify some duration and cut point in the overlay stinger setting ;-)

doggy as always thanks for the reply. The issue is the cut but that there is NO transition. Its just a cut, no overlay of the stinger. Stinger1 duration of 1 millisecond ? Should be at least the total duration of the title animation ( edit : scratch that about duration )
Stinger2 looks good though
What about the input settings of the stinger? AM not able to replicate
Do regular overlays work ?

Do regular overlays work ? Yes no problem. I can over the a title, or even the preview source without an issue. Very odd. I thought it might be the input settings but no matter what you choose it has not affect. vmix stinger input settings screen shot.jpg (123kb) downloaded 0 time(s).

I feel like I have reached a milestone if I can stump the Doggy :)
It has to be some simple and stupid I am sure.
Thanks for the ideas. Some times just being able bounced ideas of someone else will lead you to a solution.

Prob is something totally stupid , like reinstall vMix ;-)
if the one stinger is original (not edited) and have lower than 4K license it should work too imo

I don't understand, apprently you have turn the ON/OFF switch to the ON position. :):) I started thinking that maybe there was something the display setup that needed to be adjusted. And sure enough, because I have never used a stinger before, I never noticed that ALL was not turn on. Thanks for getting the thinking jumped started. (now you know why I am so relucktent to contact support because the problem usually and interface issue between the keyboard and the chair. Doggy I might spoken too soon.
When you do a stinger on your system does the stinger do a transition out ?
I noticed no matter what stinger I use it...
1. Transition In
This works as expected.
2. Cut
But then it immediately cuts to preview source.
In other words the stinger should have a transition in and out. But it NEVER executes the transition out.
3. Works Fine in GT
When you play the stock stingers in GT they display properly.
4. Try this for me
If you select Quick Play on the transition Input which brings it on air, does it play all the way through or pause at the cut point ? I know this is not the way to use a stinger but I am try determine what the heck is going on before reaching out to support.

YES this solved the issue. Odd that was not mentioned in any tutorial or documentation.
Also seems counter intuitive. I would expect that if it was check it WOULD pause.

Never mind the flicker, just figured it out or at least a work around. When I change the default "Mouse Click Action" under Stinger Input screen from Preview to cut it fixes the flicker. vmix stinger Mouse click.jpg (106kb) downloaded 1 time(s).

Doggy the problem is other than this stinger issue I have my system running perfectly. So it I have to admit it makes me a little nervous to do a fresh install. Obviously I assume that all of my vmix presets and assets are not going any where but not I can save and restore the rest of the system's settings. Which I guess is the point of doing a fresh install. :)
