At the bottom of vMix's main window there is a CPU meter, displaying presumably the average of how much of the CPU's core's capacity is used. But when I compare this number (eg 11%) to other CPU meters, like Window's performance monitor or the gadget All CPU Meter (which btw is a really cool gadget), they display significantly higher numbers (eg 38%).

Anyone else noticed this?
(I tried search the forum, but it's difficult as "CPU" is all over the place)

I guess vMix shows only the cpu usage of vMix itself.
You can compare it with the vMix process in Windows performance monitor.

thx wwvd, but there are most likely other processes used by vMix. (which is the only app I am running)

The CPU usage is for the vMix process itself.
It should match up with vmix64.exe in task manager.

The only other program vMix will run is FMLE for streaming which is not included
in the vMix CPU total.

One other thing to keep in mind is device driver CPU usage.
This is the "System" process in Task Manager and can be significant for some capture drivers.

Regards,

Martin

Aha! First of all, thanks again to wwvd who was spot on!
Martin, May I suggest that you add this information to the help file, as I Think it is useful info.
And I'll file a separate feature request for a total CPU meter.
