Hello!

There was a live event and the PC crashed during it, so one of the files got corrupted (VMIX AVI - VMX1 codec). Is there a way to recover it as VMIX Video Tools didn't work. Neither did FFMPEG, VLC or Handbrake (Handbrake didn't even open it).

Thanks in advance!

vMix AVI is only supported in vMix, Adobe Premiere, Magix Vegas Pro and Windows Media Player.
It will not work in VLC, FFMPEG and Handbrake.

So try opening it in vMix first, if this does not work then unfortunately the system crash overwrote an important part of the file
which can happen with some SSDs in rare cases. In this case it can't be recovered.

I tried opening it in VMix as an input as well, but it didn't work either. So I checked it with a HEX reader and it only had some information in the first seconds.

Thanks! Your reply confirmed that the file can't be saved.
