Is anybody else having random crashes since updating to vMix 24.0.00.59 ? VMix just closes with no response or error message. This is happening on 2 different machines with different hardware configurations that have been running very stable for at least 6 months before the update

No error message, nothing. It just quits. WIndows is not affected, it seems. Sometimes when working on it. Also when leaving it running overnight. It happens every few hours. I just downgraded one of the machines to 24.0.0.57 bad it just closed down on me again a few minutes ago. So it’ s not the latest update which is the issue. 2 different machines: - Intel i9 9920X, Windows 10 Pro 20H2, NVDiA Quattro RTX6000 - Intel I9 10900X, Windows 10 Pro 20H2, NVDIA Quattro RTX4000

Hi,
The most common cause is faulty hardware, drivers or something corrupt in Windows. That GDI+ error seems to indicate faulty or corrupt memory somehow.
If is happening only recently on two computers, that would seem to imply something recently was installed that is causing corruption in Windows somehow. Perhaps try a clean install of Windows on one of them and see if it helps.
Otherwise, we would need step by step instructions on how to replicate the issue in order to look into it further.
Regards,
Martin vMix

Regards,
Martin vMix I wish I could give a step by step, but it just randomly happens, even when just sitting there idling. I checked the logs some more. This type of entry only happened once after the last crash. before that, there is nothing in the logs that I can find that keeps reappearing. The only common thing is, that they are running on the same network and they are running on the same network and we recently

This type of entry only happened once after the last crash. before that, there is nothing in the logs that I can find that keeps reappearing. The only common thing is, that they are running on the same network that we just rebuilt and we recently changed to using more NDI sources (about 8 Video and 12 Audio only sources in a 10G Network). We also for the first timehave 75 vmMix calls loaded over 5 machines from which all but 8 on each machines are inactive and are gradually exchanged by closing blocks of 8 callers and resetting the next block of 8 callers. But the issue actually never happened while doing that, but all machines have a lot of log entries about exceeding the max. number off calls. Would it help if I posted more logs of the last 3 days when it happened?

Random crashes are going to be hardware related most likely, so the vMix logs will not be much help. You can look at the Windows event logs to see system issues and crashes in other apps potentially, to help you narrow down what hardware is at fault.
In the rare case it is an NDI source, you can tick the "FEIM" box when adding each of them. Then if one of the sources crashes it will be reported in the vMix logs so you can then contact the manufacturer of that source for a fix.
Regards,
Martin vMix

I updated the NVIDIA graphics driver to the newest version on both pc’s in the meantime. They were running stable since then for the last 24 hours. Hopefully that was the cause

I have about a dozen systems running that I've built. Since v24 has been out the new systems have started there and have been fine. Most of the older system, on v23, are closed systems that don't have a need to upgrade. Once system though, at a church, I upgraded to 24 in hopes of using the focus settings for PTZ Optics cameras. After I upgraded to 24 (I don't remember exactly which sub version) vMix started closing randomly. The only change was upgrading to v24. I down graded back to v23 and the system was fine. A while later I tried it again. That time I also updated the PTZ Optics cameras and BirdDog Mini connected to the system. I know that the BirdDog update included newer NDI support. The system was much better, but vMix did close once which pushed me back to v23 because I didn't want to take the chance. I did work for much long before closing. This particular system also has a ProPresenter 7 Mac sending via NDI. Their change log shows the last NDI update being to v4.5.1 last year. They show they have addressed NDI issues since then, but I don't see any newer version update.
I haven't posted about this because I haven't had time to try v24 again and be ready to switch back to v23 for production. (I am also building them a new system but stalled waiting on a video card.) Is it possible that the NDI update in v24 is having issues with older NDI versions?
This system's spec are: i7-4770 GTX 1060 6GB 16GB System memory 1080p30 2 NDI cameras 1 ProPresenter via NDI w/ overlay 1 USB HDMI input 2nd video card out to projectors NDI out to BirdDog Mini During production recording and 1 stream out

Still running stable on both machines until now, running shows every day. I guess in my case the culprit was the NVDIA driver
