Hi, I have an MSI GS75 Stealth 9SG - 1074 Laptop with the following specifications: RTX 2080 MAX-Q (8GB GDDR6) 32GB DDR4 RAM 1TB NVME 3x USB 3.1 Gen1 (Type A) 1x USB 3.1 Gen1 (Type-C) 1x USB 3.1 Gen2 (Thunderbolt 3, Type C) I was wondering if I could get a Thunderbolt 3 product like this: https://www.sonnettech.c...ss-se1-tb3/overview.htmlAnd then use a Black Magic Design Quad HDMI Recorder card to capture 4 incoming feeds of 1080p60 or 1080p30 (don't NEED 4k since it's an x8 card and thunderbolt 3 is x4 so if I don't get 4k that's fine). Has anyone tried this on an MSI GS75 laptop before and could this work in theory? I've ordered the enclosure but wanted to see if anyone had any previous results.

I use an MSI GS75 with the same Sonnet SE1 box and it works perfectly. The only difference is I use the Duo 2 card with SDI connections for 4 channel input. I have several of these boxes and never had a failure..

I have used many different laptops, MSI, Lenovo, Dell, Acer with Sonnet SE I TB3 enclosure and none of them have had any problems. I am also running one Dell XPS 9560 with it and it has only x2 Thunderbolt connection, no problems at all so far, I have not pushed 1080p50 through it yet, but have done many 1080p25 productions with zero problems.
With a couple of Lenovos, I have used two TB3 boxes as well with no problems. Quite a reliable system and been using it since 2017.
