I have my main soccer season coming up in less than 2 weeks and I am not able to get Youtube live working with vmix. I have used the same exact url and stream name with both Wirecast for Youtube as well as FMLE 3.2 which have reached youtube with no issues. With vmix I have tried streaming over and over and Youtube never sees any content from vmix and the following has been copied from the streaming window in vmix. As a workaround I was considering running my production in vmix and running Wirecast for Youtube at the same time with wirecast picking up the output of vmix as a single camera source but my video input in wirecast was just a single frozen frame from vmix while my output in vmix was a video clip that was playing.

I was able to stream to the very same event using wirecast for youtube as well as FMLE with the same settings on the same WIFI, same network, same settings, same computer, just can't get Vmix and youtube to connect.

Look at the advanced settings in vMix and compare with what is working in FMLE. Also make sure the bit rate and resolution set in vMix is set to what YouTube Live is expecting. Regards, Martin vMix

Ash wrote:Open the advanced tab and check Username and password are set correctly. I assume the username is the YouTube email address, I have tried both the full email address here as well as just the name as it is before the "@" Neither works. URL and Stream key are copied straight from YouTube, Input size is 1280x720, frame rate is 30 bit rate is 128 video bit rate is 1000x1280x720 Advanced Tab username and password are filled out profile is Main, Level is 4.1 keyframe has been set to both 1 and 2. Youtube recommends AAC for audio but I get a vmix error that no AAC encoder exists so it is set to MP3 now. there are no firewalls on my network and I am able to stream using Wirecast for Youtube just fine so that tells me it is some kind of setting or issue with vmix, just cant put my finger on it.

Thanks for pointing that out Tom. I have also tried at 2000 and 2500 and 4000, just thinking that maybe there was some bandwidth issues, I had inadvertently lowered it all the way to 1000, overlooking that they had a 1500 min. still had the same issue however at all of these other bit rates. I am beginning to think the issue may lie in the fact that I am getting a streaming error when AAC is selected in the streaming settings, Youtube asks for AAC and when AAC is selected I get a error that a AAC encoder does not exist. I have not seen this before and not sure if it is a vmix issue or perhaps something outside of vmix that is missing that I need to install but I am still able to do this same stream through FMLE with no issues with AAC selected for sound.

I'm not all that familiar with using the streaming module within vMix, so this might be a dumb question, but when you start the streamer do you also have to have started "external" output as you do when using FMLE directly? From your description it just seems that you are unauthorized for some reason, which to me indicates a typo somewhere... Are your "copy & pastes" exact or are symbols represented by HTML code?

Thanks IceStream I have tried with and without "external" checked, no difference. I have reverified every entry, deleted the streaming settings, retyped and retyped, checked and checked. I am not a newbie at this I have been streaming weekly for 4 years now. I am going to feel real dumb when I find out it is some little box not checked or 1 little setting that is off. I even opened the .xml file in text editor and compared the settings and data from that file which has successfully been imported into FMLE and streamed just fine. I think every setting is perfect as far as I can tell.

Time to think of the odd-ball problems.
Can you try from a different PC or try streaming to a different YouTube account? I remember with some of the Older Ustream account names, if the name had a SPACE in the it, then Ustream rejected it. As I recall, Ustream replaced the SPACE with a DASH or UNDERSCORE.

IceStream wrote:@ imagebotique Where exactly is the issue? vMix to FMLE or FMLE to YouTube? It is a vmix to FMLE issue. FMLE streams perfectly to youtube after importing settings from a xml file exported out of the youtube settings page. FMLE also picks up the vmix output just fine so as a backup plan (I need to stream to youtube next wednesday) I can run the show in vmix, pick up the output in FMLE and stream to youtube. I have also opened vmix and FMLE at the same time and looked at settings side by side and they all match. Interestingly FMLE does not have a place to enter the youtube username and password, I have tried in vmix with and without the username and password filled out under the advanced streaming settings.

Would you be able to provide a screenshot of the two? There might be something subtle and hard to spot that will might indicate what the problem is.

Regards,
Martin vMix I have included a link to a dropbox folder containing 6 screenshot, 1 with FMLE loaded with the settings as exported as a .xml file from youtube, a youtube ingest settings shot and a few different screenshots form within vmix. I have also left the stream key included so as to help diagnose the problem. Hopefully no one will take it and stream anything obscene to my account. Once the issue gets fixed I will delete the event in the youtube account. http://www.dropbox.com/s...8l3z4ggl/aRyxoE368D/vmix

Again, this is my preferred method, I just find I am able to customize and monitor the stream better... Also, because of this, I am not familiar with the vMix Streamer integration with FMLE, but why is the first stream bit rate setting set at 500 and your second at 4000 and ticked as primary? Ice

Thanks,
To work with YouTube Live you will need to tick the first Bit Rate option in the vMix Streaming window and fill in your bit rate and size instead of the second. If you tick the second, vMix switches to multi-bit-rate mode which YouTube Live does not support.
Regards,
Martin vMix
