On Windows, I can use NDI Scan Converter to capture the built-in or USB-attached webcam. I need to do the same thing on a Mac, but I'm a newbie on that OS and just figured I need to install NDI Scan Converter and that would be it. But, there's no option to select a webcam like there is on Windows. Is there a different NDI program I need to install on Mac to capture the webcam?

The bottom of the ndi.tv/tools page would lead you to believe that NDI Webcam Input is a separate app available on both Windows and Mac. On Windows, it's not a separate app; instead, it's a selectable option within the Scan Converter app. I need to check the Mac to see if it's a separate app there. It looks like Mac has this from Sienna --> http://www.sienna-tv.com/ndi/webcamforndi.html. So for now, I have things I can try.

As far as what I can see, the NDI 4.5 Tools download from Newtek for Mac does not contain a package for capturing the webcam (either built-in or USB-attached). This is contrary to what the advertising at the bottom of ndi.tv/tools would lead one to believe. Maybe I'm missing something. The Sienna NDI cam for Mac has two reviews, both bad. I'm still coming up empty on how to capture a Mac webcam directly to NDI. On Windows, it's part of Scan Converter. No such option in the Mac version of Scan Converter.

I also had the same problem, the MAC application does not allow to capture the camera.
When I needed to do this I had to install OBS on the MAC, install an NDI plugin and get the NDI signal.
It's a piece of cake, there is latency, but I had not found other means in the emergency.

Why don't you add the cam as a web guest. -> vMixCall

Thanks for the OBS and vmixcall solutions. Is there a Mac app that simply displays the camera to the screen? If yes, I'm thinking I could then use NDI Scan Converter to input the screen. Seems like this would be less overhead and less latency than the other two methods.

We've settled on Quick Camera to select an attached webcam and display it to the screen. We chose this free app over others as it has an option to mirror (horizontal flip) the image. Then, we run NDI Scan Converter to capture the screen and make it available to vMix as an NDI input. Problem solved.
