I have a number of pro licenses with Wirecast and I just came across vMix a month or two ago. It's at version 12?! Where did this software come from? Why am I only hearing about it now? Why didn't you guys tell me about this sooner?!
Anyways, being a current Wirecast customer, and not yet a vMix customer (though I am playing with the trial and going through every page of the manual while occasionally pausing to wipe the drool from my face), I am wondering what, if anything, Wirecast does that vMix does not yet do. I am looking for honest answers here. Come on, shoot yourselves in the foot on my account please. What I have found so far is that broadcasting to multiple publishing points is not as straight forward, though it is possible. What else does Wirecast do that vMix is yet to accomplish?
To you vMix customers on here, how is the vMix support? Have you ever requested a new feature or a bug fix? How was your case handled?

Hi lyinawake,
I'll answer your second question first, support and development are several magnitudes greater than 'excellent'.
As to a comparison with Wirecast, I did try it a few years ago and didn't like it. I am sure it has much improved since then.

I'll take the first question, vMix is 95% better that Wirecast feature for feature.
it is very scalable, stable, powerful, and feature full. I've used Wirecast up to vs 5.
On the other hand Wirecast is 5% more friendly when it come to streaming to multiple CDNs just look at there drop down list.
And as for support and update, it's almost real-time. ask anyone on this forum.

My honest advice is for you to dump the licenses you have now and welcome to the vMix family (LOL)

Vmix is using the GPU's processor and uses very low system resources.
There a several demo's and reviews on youtube.

vMix is the new hotness. Wirecast is old and slow to react. Martin is on this forum all day solving problems. I swear the guy must get a chime on his phone or something because he responds quickly to the most pressing issues. If it's a firmware or a future release idea...he'll take your request and make sure it gets in the new update. Also as we know there will always be an issue or two but it's nice to see for the last few years on the forum he has been answering questions, fixing stuff, trying new things, and listening to us!

At first I didn't really like the UI of vMix compared to Wirecast however after extensive use of vMix I quickly realised why the UI is the way that it is and how powerful vMix is compared to Wirecast.

Let me add to the support for vmix...one word VALUE!! I have used wirecast for 3 years, vidblaster for 1 year, and hands down vmix offers the best value in this space. I must admit it felt a bit awkward at first after using wirecast for so long, but after working with it 2 days I was sold and have not used Wirecast since...that was 6 months ago. I can't see anyone interested in internet broadcasting, using a windows machine, passing on this product. The Basic HD video is ~55 bucks USD!!! If that is not insane value for this type of product, I guess I just don't know value. Try the 60 day trial...I doubt you will regret it. Good luck!!

As a fomerly wirecast user (and almost pay for v5 update which is crap) must say that vMix wins in every aspect I've tested, it even works better with my hp laptop and intensity shuttle usb 3.0 (wirecast always had an audio clicking problem with it since version 4), after 30 days of testing the trial version I was sold, it's rock solid, lots and lots of features AND support is better than telestream.
Just had that in my chest and needed the right topic to let it out, now I'm a vMix advocate and started to recommend to everyone.

And as for support and update, it's almost real-time. ask anyone on this forum. vMix 13 will have a drop down list of multiple CDNs as well as quality presets. This function will also eliminate the need to type in your RTML urls and stream names!

Here's a reason I have now switched: less strain on your computer.
Running an HP with AMD VISION 4G processor and 8G ram... still only 5% used... AFTER BEING ON FOR FOUR HOURS.
