PIP transition audio automix

If I transition a video using an overlay as a PIP, the audio does not automix. The video will autoplay, and auto-restart, but will not automix audio. Is this a bug?
If I utilize a trigger "on overlay in" to turn "audio on", that works, but it also turns audio on during preview (right click overlay 1), which feeds the program audio. No bueno.
