iMac over NDI Compatability

I am using ndi scan converter to send imac desktop to vmix. When I click external and engage my black magic decklink duo 2 card to send vmix to an external TV, the audio going through vmix starts to crackle.
When I drop the resolution on the iMac 29" from 2560 x 1440 to 1280 x 780 it goes away but the image is not good. I have tried adjusting settings in vmix external as well as on the decklink duo card and could not find a solution.
Currently I am using a work around by running the imac hardwired as a camera input.
Any suggestions?

Update...my work around by running the imac hardwired as a camera input also added a slight bit of crackled audio. I tried replacing the imac with a macbook pro using the vmix desktop capture app and it worked great. Does anyone have any ideas on why the imac would be causing the audio issues? It seems like it is related to the resolution of the imac. Thanks
