I have integrated Zoom with vMix, with two-way audio and video. No problem there. But, I have a Zoom question and I'm hoping I can use this forum to get an answer: In Zoom, if participant X wants to hear all the audio from all other participants except for participant Y, is there a way in Zoom for participant X to block participant Y? Might there be some advanced or beta version of the Zoom client where this can be configured or scripted? I realize this is a vMix, not Zoom, forum but I've received great advice from users of this forum so I'm starting here. If anyone knows a better forum for this question, just let me know. Thanks in advance to any and all who can help.

Here's my use case; perhaps you have a way to do it: In our sanctuary, we have a functioning audio system (i.e., mics and loudspeakers mounted throughout). Without affecting the current sanctuary setup (e.g., mics immediately feed the loudspeakers), we now want to add two new requirements: 1) route the sanctuary audio and video out to our Zoom participants; and 2) route the audio and video of our Zoom participants into the sanctuary. We do not foresee a problem with the video. But for audio, we are concerned we will have a loop (i.e., echo). Our plan: Our vMix computer will receive the A/V feed from the sanctuary. To satisfy requirement #1, the VMix computer will have Zoom integration such that the vMix audio Output is routed to Zoom (call it Zoom A) by way of either virtual audio cables or NDI (haven't decided which way yet). To satisfy requirement #2, we will have another computer running Zoom (call it Zoom B) configured to send the speaker output to the sanctuary audio input by way of a USB audio interface. So, this solves both requirements for our Zoom participants, but audio originating from the sanctuary is going to vMix, then Zoom, then back out to the sanctuary resulting in an echo. So, as we see it, in Zoom B we need to block the audio of Zoom A. Is there a better way to do it?

It is always a good idea to search the vMix Forum before posting a question. In the majority of cases it turns out to be a common problem that has been answered many times before. And we can devote our precious time on novel challenges ;)

Unfortunately, as Narcogen says, it cannot be managed in Zoom. Good luck, and don't be afraid to ask again if you get stuck! (after first learning about how it might be done and preferably tried as well)

I responded to your "perhaps you have a way to do it". We do it regularly (getting audio in and out from Zoom with vMix in an auditorium setting) using the Automix method. Simply because it can't be done in Zoom. And I guessed you wanted a solution that works.

You did not specifically state that you have searched the forum. Sometimes I add a note on searching because many users tend to ask without checking first.

And on a sidenote, I suggested ZoomOSC before you described the need you have.

I inherited a strange setup. Our video/vMix room is in a different part of the building from our audio room. Our video room gets a sanctuary camera and audio feed, but there's no audio cable running back from the video room to the audio room. So as a workaround, my thinking was to pump all the audio (including the sanctuary) into Zoom A in the video room, then pull all the audio out of Zoom B in the audio room. But, after thinking about it and taking responses like yours to heart, I'm going to use audio buses on vMix to route all but the sanctuary audio out to NDI. Then, instead of Zoom B in the audio room, I'm going to run NDI Studio Monitor to grab the audio. This should solve my problem. Thanks for your input.

Yes, you are absolutely correct, audio from the Zoom participants may loop around from the sanctuary mics. However, two things are in our favor here:
1) Zoom participants are only 1% of our service;
2) They come in at well-known points in the service, so our vMix operator can kill the sanctuary audio input at those times.
Our sound engineer also says using the proper type of sanctuary mics coupled with proper settings of the sanctuary loudspeaker levels will go a long way to preventing audio loops.
