Perhaps I am missing something but I was under the impression that we could rename (custom name) audio busses and how items appear in the audio mixer.
Yesterday, when testing a new microphone (Rode Wireless Go 2 attached via usb), for a short time I saw a place to rename the audio mixer title while in the audio settings for that device. At the time, the setting screen had fewer items than I normally see, but it did have a place to rename the input. This worked fine... for a while.
A bit later, I was redefining/changing the input and wound up with two items in the audio mixer... one with the custom name, and one with the current input name. I had to close down the session to remove the custom name in the audio mixer. However, I have not been able to subsequently surface any audio settings screen that has the field for a custom name for use in the mixer.
Similarly, I thought we could also rename audio busses, but I haven't found how to do this. These features don't seem to be in the help system.
Any thoughts are appreciated.

Alan,
To rename the audio busses (A, B, C, ...) just click the cog wheel of that audio bus and under general > name you typ in whatever you want.

All,
Any idea about renaming inputs in the mixer? I am teaching a webinar on Sunday morning and would like to demonstrate version 24 features, and it would be great if I could show this feature.

It's not difficult to customize these labels and can go a long way in keeping Looking at different people's mixer setups in Logic, it doesn't take long before one notices custom In the case of Bus pathways, they also include the name of the channel naming, the factory assigned core audio driver names. visit this site

Renaming inputs in the mixer is not possible, because every channel in the audio mixer is "connected" to an input. To have another name in the audio mixer, you have to rename the input itself.
Best regards, Patrick

Patrick,
I don’t think I was hallucinating when I renamed a mixer item in my testing (mentioned in my original message), though I suppose it’s possible that I had inadvertently renamed one of the busses.
Martin???
