Hi there, Have heard of instances recently of vMix crashing, in some way related to things NDI...... This knowledgebase entry from June 2020, details a way of manually upgrading the NDI version within vMix to match current NDI version but then categorically states that they don't provide support for installations with a non installed version... https://www.vmix.com/kno...version-in-vmix-manuallyJust wondering what prompted the release of this knowledgebase, as there are no details about what might require you to update version, and the "caveat" makes me wary about updating and what other problems this might result in. Are there major NDI problems, which although not common, we should perhaps be aware of, as I am utilising NDI within every show currently. Many thanks for any information P

Hi,
To clarify, there are no known issues with the older NDI version vMix uses. In the case of rare crashes, the cause is usually almost always a faulty encoder.
The later NDI versions can use more CPU cores to decode HD streams, so this guide was made for use mainly in situations where people are using instances in the cloud with low CPU clock speeds, but high number of cores. The later versions allow them to use more NDI sources.
Regardless, the latest NDI is in the vMix 24 preview release, which I would strongly advise using instead of attempting a manual update of 23.
Regards,
Martin vMix
