Thought I would share a technique we worked out on a recent show to help our call talent and cut-down on talk-back and count-ins.

We created a custom overlay title driven by a data source linked to a spreadsheet with the run of show and various cues (e.g. wrap up please). It had a semi-transparent background with red text in the top right corner.

We assigned that title to overlay 2 and left it active the entire time (duration = 0).

We then configured output settings for overlay 2 to only work on output 2, but not be displayed in output 1.

We then updated all calls to use output 2 for all our program returns.

With that all our callers saw a cue in the top right corner on their screen, but it was isolated from the live show. We also tested a count-in timer that way.

We only talked to talent before the show started, and then just ran with these cues.

We programmed a shortcut on our Streamdeck to advance the data source to the next item (next cue).

Hope it helps someone else.

Cheers,
Jan
