SO far I found a good use for it in a sub multiview input since it allows crop and position, unlike a regular input.
I see very little info about it anywhere else, what are some other good uses for it?

Quote:since it allows crop and position, unlike a regular input. What do you mean? Any (regular) input can be cropped and positioned! must have missed something

It can't if it's part of a sub input multiview.
Say you have an input with a green screen keyed out. Then you put it on your second input which takes care of the background, crop and position no longer work in either virtual sets or multiview Pips.
So I end up putting that input in a Mix input and using that in virtual sets.

Recently I was trying to use the Mini Mix features for more than they are designed, and had some issues, which I discussed with vMix. They clarified the type of useful features these provide. The following are a couple of examples: 1. A simple application would be using a Picture-in-Picture effect (as outlined in the second half of this video: ) such as a news anchor with an Image over their shoulder as PiP. 2. Another application would be to operate a completely different Mix so that you could send the Main vMix Program Output as a stream, and your Mix 2 (Mini Mix) to the Fullscreen Output onto a projection screen at a LIVE venue so each screen (Mix) can have unique content. There are some limitations, so it pays to read up on them before implementing them in your production.

I've been using the Mix feature to run some classic effects like you would find in the "DVE" on a GrassValley production control switcher. It can execute effects like a "Slide" or "Push/Slide" & even a "Shuffle!" The Mix function also executes fake camera zooms nicely!

I’ve found them useful for swapping between two inputs on the fly. Like swapping out ASL interpreters or if I need to swap between two PowerPoints.
