Thanks: 1 times
I posted a question about this a few months ago, but I would like to change this to a feature request as I don't believe its currently possible.

I would like to be able to subscribe to current Audio Levels (dB) for every output, bus, and input via the TCP API, similar to how TCP Tally's work.

This API would refresh at a variable rate between maybe 1-30 times per second so I could render out high quality level indicators inside my control UI without having to hit the VMIX with tons of XML requests. Right now I limit it to ~5 per second to avoid any performance hits.

The data could be plain text, xml, or JSON encoded.

Original thread with a few +1s

Thanks for your consideration!

In principle I agree. However..

  1. It's completely safe to poll up to 60 times per second
  2. Audio levels are only update 10 times as second anyway
