Pausing the recording is much more useful than pausing a live stream. As someone pointed out, breaks during a presentation need not be recorded, leaving long stretches with nothing happening.
I've been eagerly waiting for this feature for a while now - hopefully it can be incorporated into the workflow(?)

you can use the replay function for this,
mark in´s and out´s when the game is going, and then setting up a event playlist, then exporting this event playlist, then you are done with editing and everthing is exported ready for upload, minimal post production...
