Hello,

I want to connect my USB3.0 Webcam to vMix, but the vMix-Computer ist aber 15m away from the Webcam-Position.... As I have an Ethernet-Cable (Cat6) in the wall that connects this distance I would like to use an USB-Ethernet-Adapter so that I can use the existing Ethernet-Cable (which is hided in the wall) instead of an regular USB3.0-Extension (which would be visible on the foor/wall....

Does somebody know if and how you can connect an USB 3.0-Device over Ethernet?

I only find Adapters that provide USB2.0 support....

Thanky you for your help!

Danke xaver für den Link....
Das ist preislich über meinem Rahmen.... Aber wenn es sowas technisch gibt, dann suche ich mal weiter ob es auch eine günstiger Alternative gibt.

It's a webcam. That implies certain things.

A Logitech Brio or Rally, connected via USB 3.0, supports 4K30 using NV12 or MJPEG compression.

When connected via USB 2.0 they support 1080p30, also using MJPEG. Perhaps 1080p60. (Not sure about. Never tried myself.)

If you really want 4K, you may be best to get a small PC to locally encode the webcam to NDI, which you can pass along gigabit ethernet.

Alternatively, I'm given to understand that Kiloview has an NDI encoder that will access a USB source.

Just tested to confirm a Logitech Brio DOES support 1080P60 over USB 3, using Direct Show access.
