Good morning and happy new year to all. I'm trying to find the best solution to have a quality stream considering the system at my disposal.
I have a machine with i7-6700k @ 4.00ghz processor, 16 gb of ram, Nvidia GeForce gtx 950 video card.
I have browsed through the available documentation, but I cannot find details about the "Level" and "Preset" settings of "Stream Quality"
I would like to understand what the right balance is.
Also recently something strange is happening with youtube. I set a stream at 720p 60fps 4Mbps, but when vMix starts the stream as if it is flooded and fails to produce 0.5 Mbps. I hope you can give me some more information. Thanks.

A "good" quality atreeam would tart at around 1080 30P at 6Mbps. No need to do 60p unless you have fast moving action.
But if you do, then 6Mps might not be enough to prevent artifacts. Level is really about complexity and what else you have running in VMix.
If you have static image, Youtube might show a bit rate near zero.

I'm trying to understand how ffmpeg works.
frame = 3164 fps = 51 q = -0.0 size = 2185kB time = 00: 01: 03.72 bitrate = 280.8kbits / s
could you tell me above all the values q what does it indicate? What does a value of 30 mean? what does a value of 0 mean? And what could I do to improve it.
In the example above you can see how the bitrate is at 280.08 kbits a minute from the start of the encoding, while it should be around 2000 this time it's not youtube, a rtmp server.

I leave here the answer to some of my questions, if it should serve someone in the future. The Q value indicates the frame quality the closer it is to zero, the better the encoding quality, 30 represents the opposite value. I imagine that by acting on the different settings you can improve the quality of the encoding.
