Hello.
I have downloaded the trial of Vmix, watched the tutorial and read as much documentation as I can.
This may be a dumb question, but I can't figure out if Vmix will do what I want to do.
I have an upcoming dance competition with about 240 performances over 2 days. I'm looking to do a two camera shoot using Panasonic DVX 100b cameras going into an Intel I5 box with 24gb of ram. I have a 3Tb USB3.0 Hard drive for storage and a 128 Gb SSD drive that I have been using in Premiere for working files.
I want to end up with a video clip of each performance that I can burn to a DVD if it is ordered/purchased. Some Competitors will be in multiple performances.
Question 1: Can each performance be saved as an individual clip?
Question 2: If I have one Firewire card with two imputs on a pci-e single slot will that adequately capture the two video streams?
Question 3: What settings should I use to created the best possible quality files to burn to the DVD.
Question 4: What program do you recommend for collecting the files and burning to DVD
I used to think I was smart, but the older I get the dumber I feel. Thanks for your help.

Hi,
In response to your questions:
1. Recordings in vMix can be started and stopped at any time to create new recordings, so could start a recording at the beginning of a segment and stop it later.
2. Firewire cards generally only work with a single camera at a time. Might be better to install two blackmagic intensity pro cards and connect them to the analog output on the camera.
3. Recording to MPEG-2 at 720x480 at 16 Mbps will create a good master for DVD encoding.
4. Sony Movie Studio includes a DVD building program with one of their editions.
Regards,
