Hello, I need your help.
I need a triggers to do this job

We use the V-Mix presets to manage the PTZ CAMs, everything works, but sometimes in live I find myself in the situation of having to temporarily change the shot still in the Preview window; Rightly V-Mix sends the Original preset when sending in Program.

In your opinion, there is a way to create a triggers, which:
Once the PTZ CAM has been sent as a preview (we only use it for the position), after a few moments replace the preview with the Original Camera, in this way I would have solved my problems.

Thanks for your help.

How do you control the PTZ camera? If you are using vMix shortcuts you could add a 2nd shortcut to all your PTZ movement shortcuts that puts the original input into preview. So as soon as you move your camera it will be in preview.

A script could also help.

Yes, for positions I use V-Mix short-cuts, as you say it would be perfect,
but I have no idea how it could be done.
Can you give me some help.
Thanks

Hi, I'm not entirely sure I understood the question, so apologies if I go off on a tangent here, but it sounds like you are recalling a PTZ preset (using a Virtual Input, I guess) in Preview, manually reframing the shot, then seeing vMix revert to the stored preset when you transition the camera to PGM. One workaround for this - and not the best if things are happening fast - is to add shortcuts to update the PTZ preset. I've done this by adding buttons to my Streamdeck which call the 'PTZUpdateVirtualInput' command. The workflow becomes: Recall PTZ preset, manually reframe shot, update PTZ preset, Take.

The downside is that you'll need as many buttons as presets and you'll need to remember which is which when updating. Maybe we could add a feature request for the command PTZUpdateVirtualInput to target whatever virtual input is active in Preview? Would simplify things a bit...

There's no "OnPreview" trigger, so we need a different means for automation. The most basic means is to use one button for multiple shortcuts. If you recall your PTZ positions only through shortcuts (and not by clicking on the inputs) you can set your shortcuts to two functions: 1) PreviewInput for your original camera input and 2) PTZMoveToVirtualInputPosition to actually move the camera. That way you never have the Virtual PTZ Inputs in Preview.

If that's not enough, the question is, how do you actually pan, tilt and zoom your camera? I'm using an Xbox controller, that is also using vMix shortcuts. So if I'm moving the left joystick up, that's using the vMix function PTZMoveUp. One could assign the function PreviewInput for the original camera input also to joystick up (and every other joystick movement). Effect: Once you move the camera, the position preset is no longer in Preview, but the original camera input is, and it is safe to transition to program.

It all depends on your workflow. If you are using shortcuts a lot, the multiple functions help and are easy to set up. If you are clicking a lot with the mouse, you would need a script.

Afaik, that's already possible by creating a shortcut PTZUpdateVirtualInput and using Preview as the input. Another good option is to use it with Hover as input. It updates the input that is currently under the mouse cursor.

What I do is leave the "master" camera inputs open while all the other virtual inputs are minimized. I have a list of which camera and which shot corresponds to which virtual input number. So I click that master input's gear icon, adjust the camera with the PTZ controls in the input, then click the appropriate "update virtual input" button and it updates the preset.
