In order to better focus on basic live input switching, we would like to make handling audio a separate job for another person. Is this common in vMix world? Any recommendations on control surface with faders as opposed to small dials? Behringer BCF 2000 seems an option. Is there a way to control audio of individual inputs externally? Thank you.

This was discussed maybe a hundred times already in the forum! A little search would have brought you back several ways to do this with many alternatives !!! There's even a vMix tutorial in the YT channel dedicated to this topic ! So yes, it's common in the vMix world ! You can either go for : - a midi controller. There are several options. I personally use the Akai APC Mini ($70) and the Behringer X-Touch - a software controller like vMix UTC or vMix Panel Builder which let you design your own remote "virtual" mixer. It's free. - other solutions for tablets are available as apps for iOS and Android Here's my own remote mixer for vMix using Panel Builder DWAM-Virtual-Mixer.jpg (1,733kb) downloaded 66 time(s).and an old video I did for the use of the Akai midi controller Hope this helps and remember to search the forum before asking questions: 90%-95% of the answers you're looking for are already there !

I prefere Hardware Faders and you can get a used Behringer BCF 2000 for under 100$. The BCF2000 works perfect, with fader move, but i could bring it only to work with a "translater" software CENTRAL CONTROL< (50$) You can easy assign any Button, even in Layers, for any available function in vMix. I have 2 Behringers running smooth. You can also have, via a 100$ Android Tablet, all your level meters and more in front of your faderbank. Thatfor you can use Panel Builder, as DWAM mentioned.

DWAM: Wow, that's a gorgeous audio panel you built in vMix Panel Builder! I just made my rudimentary version as a proof of concept, and it worked spectacularly. I can see I have much room for improvement. I would like to use the image of your panel as reference, if you don't mind.
Thanks for sharing, and for being such a helpful presence on the forums.
Best,
C*

@mntechnogeek
thanks for the kind words and feel free to design your own mixer based on mine if you like it. I would share if I'd mind... What really bothers me is those who want me to give it away 'cos they're too lazy to do it themselves...
Have fun!

Half the fun is learning how it all works. Seeing your panel is inspiring, and gives me ideas to fix the things in mine that I'm not completely happy with. :-)
