Is there a way to make this happen?

I have inputs on a primary vMix that use the AutoAudio feature, so their audio channel turns on when the input goes to PGM, either directly, or a 2UP box, multiview layer, etc. and turns off when they are not on PGM.

I'm wanting these channels to be linked to respective counterpart channels on a second vMix computer, so that when the audio turns on/off on vMixA it will automatically turn on/off the audio of a linked input in vMixB. this control needs to happen over the network as the 2 vMix machines are not always physically together.

I found where I can use an http command to control vMixB, but can't find a way to link it to the audio on/off status. TIA

while centralcontrol is an excellent piece of software, it will not allow vMix to command another vMix.

This ^ , sounds like a scripting thing would solve it.


If not, unsure if Bitfocus companion could hook into both instances of vMix at the same time and control both from a button press on a streamdeck?

Confirmed, without the need for scripting [in vMix]. The functions *essentially* run simultaneously if you don't add delays, though I've not done a frame-by-frame analysis either.

However, the latency of the way you're getting signal between the computers is probably enough that the latency of control over Ethernet is likely insignificant by comparison.

Just in case anybody is curious about this alternative method, but can't be bothered to sit through a 10 minute video... About 2:30, he finally gets to the point and explains that he's using Midi activators on one vMix system to trigger events on another. It's not a bad idea for some setups, but it does requires a third-party piece of software to work.
