I would love the option to actually move inputs to colored tabs instead of just being able to just copy them. I could then setup a tab devoted to Cameras, Mixed Effects, Audio Files, Video Files, Graphics etc. An additional tab or two would not hurt. I know for me this would help me keep a show a lot more organized.

I have thought a bout this quite a lot a while back. I even tried to organize my inputs with colored tabs for a few productions but couldn't find a way that was satisfactory or smart enough. It might depend on the type of production we're doing though (I don't know what you're doing with vMix) but I rapidly quit trying to work this way as it has a lot of inconveniences in many stituations (mostly when you need to be fast and have a global vision on your project). IMHO...

Many things and features can help already to work with a single tab full of various inputs. Here's what I do (in case it might help a little)

- have a method for ordering inputs. Mine is based on the frequency I need inputs. The most used first, the less used last.
I always use the same order : cams > vmixcalls > ndi inputs > multiviews > mix > titles > lists (video) and photos (images) > misc > graphics > audio
I reorder inputs manually by dragging them in position in case I couldn't order them perfectly at once when prepping.

- always use lists for videos > one list input can contain hundreds of videos. This reduces the number of inputs and it has a major impact on performance.
Renaming the files also helps... Sometimes by number (appearance order) or by a name which makes sense.

- always use photos inputs for images > same as above. Renaming often helps too.

- inputs which need to be in the project but don't need to be "switched" like graphics for titles or audio inputs are always collapsed to save space (and they are positionned at the end)

- during a show when an input is no longer to be used, I collapse it.

- using datasources and csv files for titles is a must. I've seen many people duplicating the same title with different values while a single right click allows to select which value to use.

- using external apps (in another monitor) like the Web Controller or UTC or VMPB helps a lot too for specific and occasional scenarios. They all offer many features and a visual representation that you can customize your own way.

- obviously using multiple monitors (I use 4) is not a luxury. Expecially one for all undockable elements like mixer, lists, call manager, etc...

- last but not least, having a QHD monitor (2560 x 1440 pixels) or UHD (3840 x 2160 pixels in portrait mode) for vMix interface is just great! You can see more inputs at once, there's no need to scroll anymore and this is the number #1 thing to do if you deal with large number of inputs.
