Yes, I have searched the forum, and believe I already know the answer - but I seek clarity.
My new system has enough PCIe lanes to support another graphics card. Currently installed is a GTX 1070. I have a Quadro P4000 on the way - delayed by shipping.
Yes, there a reason. More on that later, cause its kinda crazy.
Can one computer use 2 graphics cards that are not the same and not use SLI or Crossfire. Then define just one (P4000) just for Vmix?
If not directly on the system board, then how about using an external on thunderbolt?
I found an app that runs on the Oculus Quest 2 that allows for 5 virtual monitors. I want to mix in VR. The graphic support for the Oculus is limited, but the 1070 is there. The P4000 better for vmix.
Imagine -not having to carry multiple monitors to gigs anymore.
Thanks.

Quote: I want to mix in VR We found the craziest one ! LOL ! I don't think it will work. Vmix will feed the GTX OR the Quadro but not both at the same time. Anayway give it a try and keep us posted !

Crazy is right, but cool. Here's the deal. I don't believe 2 cards will work. But I can test the benefits of the 1070 vs P4000. AND I can test VR with the P4000 - specs say it may or may not work.
There are a bunch of hoops to jump thru to even test....VR software for the PC, then the actual app that allows the desktop in VR, which reading the tech support page, has issues.
The benefits: Lot less work setting up. The cool factor. Pushing boundaries. VR is mainly a gaming environment. It will really take off when there are business apps, and alternative uses, like Vmixing in VR.
PS- a backup monitor will always be in the truck.
