Our church is interested in combining Zoom for our remote missionaries into vMix for a conference. I am on the latest version of vMix 23 and am trying to use NDI as much as possible. I was planning to run the zoom client on the vMix laptop and send the external video output to an HD TV in the sanctuary so the audience can see the speaker with some sort of Ethernet(NDI) to HDMI input to the HD TV. The problem I see is how do you get the audio out of the vMix laptop and into the Allen & Heath analog mixing board? Today, I am getting an output over XLR cables to a Shure Movi encoder that is interfaced via USB-C into the Alienware vMix laptop.

Is there some sort of encoder/decoder that would allow me to do handle both the audio in from the mixer to vMix and and audio out from vMix to the mixer?

Any thoughts or recommendations.

I could see the potential for a feedback loop.

Prefer to use NDI where possible.

Thanks!

Brian

Since I'm not getting any response ... what if I ask it this way ... are there any Digital to Analog converters that people can recommend? I would need USB in to the convert and XLR out to the mixer. I've seen some, but the prices seem rather expensive. Any recommendations?

I've had the bst luck with Focusrite. You can spend more on higher end models if you want better preamps, but the Scarlett is a good option. It will give you both in and out from Vmix.

So you could take an XLR audio out and bring it in via USB and vice versa?

Yes, although most of the models have a 1/4" output, so you'll need a couple of Male TRS to Male XLR adapters to get the audio back to the Mixer.

If you just need 2 ins and 2 outs: https://focusrite.com/en...ce/scarlett/scarlett-2i2

The 4i4 has additional feature like a pad button and I like it better overall: https://focusrite.com/en...ce/scarlett/scarlett-4i4

After that it's about noise floor with pre amps and the price goes up quickly.
