Im just wondering what to do about songs we sing in ourservices that are streamed on
Youtube. I have videos that have copywrite claims. But it then says

The Content ID claim on your video doesn't affect your channel. This is not a copyright strike.

So how in the world do we avoid this. For example it was these songs.

Great Is Thy Faithfulness (Live)

Christ Be Our Light

Also we use a short clip from Its a Wonderful live for the pastors sermon and I got a yellow warning

How in the heck do you avoid all this?

How do those warnings affect your Youtube channel? I haven't seen any bad effect yet, I think if you want to get rid of those notifications, you should provide the source of the videos you want to upload, may be it will help

Solution 1 : by not using copyrighted content (which is stealing btw)

Solution 2 : by getting a license and paying for the right to use copyrighted content, like TVs, radios, etc... so that artists can generate incomes on their work which you are using unlawfully at the moment.

Well as for the songs they come from Our Lutheran Hymnals. So there is that

The movie segments. The Copywrite for Its a Wonderful life is for the Story line and the songs. Not the movie itself. So while you cannot show the WHOLE movie nor play any of the songs, individual cuts would still fall under open source. Now the Songs being as they come from the Lutheran hymnals are covered under our copywrite. So we are not stealing. But Youtube has some strange
things coming up.

I already had such a message:

The Content ID claim made on your video will not affect your channel. So your account will not receive a copyright warning.
Video cannot be monetized.
Advertising revenue paid to copyright owner.

Well, I guess I will have to see what YouTube does, We quit using its a wonderful life, just too much to argue, as far as the hymns from our hymnal I found we also have a CCLI license so we are good. Will just have to see if you tube quits bugging us as I now include the CCLI number on the lyrics slide and in the ending credits. Its a pain but worth it to keep our stream going.

Because copyright checking is done by algorithm, it only focuses on the stream and ignores any permissions text in your video description or on screen. We use the ONE LICENSE streaming license rather than CCLI and put the text and our number on screen at all times and in the video description. It still gets flagged. I ceased to worry about it. I'm honouring both the creators of the material and the Lord in what I'm doing, and no machine algorithm can stop that.

We purchase a streaming license from ONE LICENSE and CCLI that covers our church streamed 'performances'.

You can see what songs each covers by searching:
https://www.onelicense.net/search and
https://songselect.ccli.com/

We include a slide at the end of the service with our CCLI and ONE license numbers, and the song license numbers, as well as in the text description on YouTube.

We still get copyright notices, but as Fr.Simon said we know that we are covered and paid the appropriate parties. We don't monetize our streams so it doesn't really affect us.

Thanks, being a small church Im not sure we can do both Licenses :). But Ill see what is in the budget. We do not monetize our streams either, No need. So I hope it will keep us clean. I did have 2 songs this last Sunday with the CCLI on them and I didnt get beeped by Youtube.

We play original artist recordings prior to our services. Sometimes our livestreams pick this up and we've received the same copyright notice from YouTube - but never for the songs we perform live or for video content. (We have CCLI copyright and streaming licenses, as well as a CVLI license for video.) In YouTube Studio, you have options for dealing with the copyright issue, including the ability to mute the offending song. In our case, that's no problem since those songs take place during the pre-roll which most viewers skip thru. Maybe not a viable option for you, though.
