Hi there,

Now that I'm getting into recording/transmitting vMix calls, I'm finding having a black screen is making it tough to do things like check return video and audio until someone connects. I attempt to line up return circuits using holding clips, but there is the danger that you may leave an output on the wrong input when the calls start, and by then it could be too late.

I would love to see a basic colour slate, with perhaps the call ID displayed as text when the call is created, rather than the black screen. It could disappear as soon as someone connects. Something to differentiate it from the other callers that are pending.

Thanks guys,

Nick

But I'd also like to see an option to put a custom slate in there if a caller disconnects, right now they just freeze.

Had another job today where I had four vmix calls waiting in a multiview, and sadly had to stare at a black screen hoping they would appear when someone connected.

Sadly, one square never changed.

I know I might be beating a dead horse here, but I'm doing this right now attempting to setup a routine to record four callers via vMix call.

I'm feeding out from an AWS instance with the callers via BirdDog cloud, down to a local vMix instance to record, then sending a multiview back for video return. (Pictured)

If it weren't for the fact that I were using the trial version of BirdDog Cloud, I wouldn't see anything, and I wouldn't know anything was working.

Please can we consider the auto-slate idea? Or even if each window were just a sheet of colour so we can differentiate please. This would really help planning and layouts, without having to change sources.

Many thanks. :)
