New users trying to get a 2 camera plus miulti microphones (via mixer) setup working.

We have a Behringer mixer feeding USB audio to our HP laptop running vMix trial.

Eventually managed to create an audio input for the mixer, but even when it is set to zero there is audio coming from somewhere, probably the laptop's built in microphones. Can't find any way to get rid of it. Suggestions?

There are a few things.
How are hte camera’s attached to the computer? And do they have audio? (You must see a mixer option per camera) if the audio is comming from a surce in vmix you can identify it by the VU meters.
Some sound... is it a humming sound? Have you a groundloop isolator between de mixer and the audio capture card?
And where do you hear the sound? On the system speaker? Is that is the case it will not be part of a broadcast.

In Windows device manager, disabled the internal microphones, while leaving vMix authorized to use microphones. Had to reset the vMix audio iinput (which was showing Disabled) and we now have audio from our mixer in Vmix. And with vMix external output turned on, Zoom can see both the video and audio from vMix. Major advance.

Now want to work out the best way to ensure that when we play a video in vMix, we get only the audio from that video. Can of course click each time to disable the mixer audio before starting a video, and click again to re-enable it after the video ends. But it would be far less error prone to be able to make that the default. Or create automatic sequences to play a video with mixer muted.

And we want the mixer audio to continue through all changes of camera and angle (virtual cameras) during the live portion of our services. For both cameras (one a PTZ connected by ethernet, and one a webcam connected by USB) we never want to use the camera's own sound. With automatic switching turned off that seems to happen now, but we want to be sure we have all the right settings.

Just saw the reply from Pepsi. Our reply above contains some of the info requested.

The webcam (Logitech Brio) has its own microphone. The PTZ camera has no microphone of its own, but does have a 3.5mm jack for an external microphone (none connected).

Before we disabled the internal microphone array, we could see a fairly significant audio output on the vMix master audio input panel even after the master sliders for the mixer were brought to nil. Sounded like general room sound. It was as if vMix always included the laptop mikes even though we had not created an input for it. The meter still shows a little bit of noise, but nothing like before. We can live with it for now.

We don't have ground loop eliinattion hardware. But should that be an issue when the only connection is by USB output from the mixer?
