Wondering if there is a way to establish a caller lobby. The goal is to be broadcasting a "show is starting soon" slide and be able to have all callers in a lobby talking to each other before the show starts while obviously not broadcasting them.

Is there a way to do this?

Yes

Been discussed hundreds of times already, use the search feature of this forum to check out different methods to do this.

It would be awesome if you can at least share the name of the feature so that I can narrow down the search. I have searched for "call lobby" here with no results prior to posting my question.

vMix is not Zoom ! vMix is a live production software, not a conference room system.

Meaning vMix only shows in PGM WHAT YOU DECIDE. If you don't switch to your callers inputs they won't show.

For the audio part, it's only a matter to setting audio busses correctly.

Check vMix YouTube channel to learn how to use and set vMixCalls correctly

Hi DWAM

Hope these tips will lead you down a successful path.

Create a multiview via setting > set your vmix callers as the inputs

-The callers will be able to see live (top right) and themselves.

Shortuts with Streamdeck XL

On one button program all of these shortcuts for each caller. In this example, I'll use vmix caller 1.

Button down - change video call audio source on vmix caller 1 to Bus G (I choose G, you can choose your preference)
Button up - change video call audio source on vmix caller 1 back to Master

Button down - change solo on for vmix caller 1
Button up - change solo off for vmix caller 1

Button down - change audio on for vmix caller 1
Button up - change audio off for vmix caller 1

Button down - change AudioBusOff 'M,X' (where X is the vmix caller 1 input number)
Button up - change Audiobus 'M,X' (where X is the vmix caller 1 input number)

Note: This is one way I found successfully, I'm sure there are other superuser who have found a way that works for their system and setup.

Thanks, everyone. This has been incredibly helpful. I think I'm close to a solution.

I read up on audio busses and am now using BUS A for green room talk. In addition, I've set video output 2 to an input with multiview, which creates this video conferencing-like setup.

The tricky part is setting up everything that needs to happen to have this working with a single button press. My goal is to be able to speak with people before the show starts; I don't need to talk to them while the show is ongoing.

Ideally, I want to press a single button on the StreamDeck that moves everyone into and out of the green room. Is there a way to do this?

For the record, here's everything that needs to happen when moving everyone into the green room:

1) Switch all callers to VIDEO SOURCE = OUTPUT 2
2) Switch all callers to AUDIO SOURCE = BUS A
3) Switch off Master audio input for all callers
4) Switch on Bus A for all callers
5) Toggle audio ON for all callers

Then, I would need another button to move everyone out of the green room which is the opposite of the above:

1) Switch all callers to VIDEO SOURCE = OUTPUT 1
2) Switch all callers to AUDIO SOURCE = MASTER
3) Switch on Master audio input for all callers
4) Switch off BUS A for all callers

I don't need step 5 since I use automix and Vmix will toggle on their audio when they're on camera.

Is this something that can be done with Shortcuts?

You could do it by stacking a bunch of commands to the same shortcut, but it's probably easier/cleaner to write a script and then trigger that script. If you need help writing the script, there's an easy to use tool here: https://forums.vmix.com/...r-App---Updated-02-24-20
